DRIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Must have 2 years verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Minimum age requirement is 24 years old
- Tractor must be 6 years or newer model year with a current DOT inspection
- Summit provides trailer
- Driver will be requested to scale up to 44,000 pounds
- Driver should be willing to drive minimum of 2,000 miles per wk
- Our fleet averages 2,800 miles per week (depending on driver's ability)
- Comdata fuel card provided (drivers are charged actual transaction fee)
- We do not run west of Colorado, mostly SE, SW, upper MW.
- Proactive dispatch. Loads are planned before you deliver.
- No forced dispatch (daily calls required)
- Driver's are through home every weekend
- We do not solicit dedicated east coast freight
- Our Philosophy: Our customers are your customers! Service is King!!
- 99% no touch freight
- An escrow account is required. (Via payroll deductions)
- Summit pays for lettering on tractor and pre-contract hire drug test. If driver terminates prior to 3 months service, he is responsible for these expenses via escrow account.
- Driver must own a cell phone with national long distance service plan.
- Proof of Workers Comp. or Occupational Accident Insurance is necessary.
- Proof of bobtail insurance (certificate) is necessary.
- Summit has a large parking lot for tractor and trailer weekend parking
- Compensation:
- $.15 per mile EXPEDITE premium
- Paid on "practical miles", not "short miles"
- Regional rate sliding scale applies for 0-300 miles (5 rate brakes)
- $30 for each stop except first origin p/u and final delivery
- Paid weekly (all paperwork due Monday by noon, paid the following Wednesday)
- Direct check deposit is method of driver compensation
- Fuel surcharge is paid to drivers (while in effect)
